Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for Juniors

Juniors Program (10-14years)

There is often much debate about the teaching of martial arts to children. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is not a rough or dangerous martial art. In fact, it’s often referred to as the ‘Gentle Art’. The ground based martial art shows students how to fight on their back without the use of striking or punching.

Juniors are taught escapes, take downs, and passes. They are never taught techniques that could be unsafe if not executed properly or responsibly. Our Juniors Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program also teaches students how to control a provoker without hurting them or themselves.

While combat sports use fists and elbows as their defence we will teach your child to use verbal assertiveness and non-violent self-defence techniques to stay safe. We do not teach your kids to punch or kick. We do teach them leverage-based control holds to neutralize threats without violence.

Your child will be equipped with a number of non-violent strategies to deter bullies, without becoming one.
