Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi

No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, also known as grappling, is a without the Gi variation of our BJJ Martial Art program at Melbourne Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Our Gracie No-Gi classes cover all parts of grappling without the Gi in a fun, safe, and cooperative environment.

Techniques covered include grips, control holds, escapes, wrestling, take downs, self-defence, footwork, locks, and submissions. Required uniform for these class are Jiu-Jitsu grappling shorts and a rash guard. A mouth guard is also recommended. Melbourne Jiu-Jitsu instructors teach the effective use of leverage and balance to overcome bigger opponents. The efficiency of No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a real-life fight situation made it become an essential part of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

Our No-Gi classes are run to extend your learning in the shortest amount of time. After a short warm up, you will learn some effective Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques in easy to understand step-by-step instructions. After this, you can test your skills in a sparring session and refine your ability and technique. All No-Gi classes are conducted by a qualified instructor. No aggressive or unsportsmanlike behaviour is tolerated, a safe and friendly environment is maintained throughout the class.

The Melbourne Jiu-Jitsu Academy is open 6 days a week, offering over 15 adult classes.

Most academies limit you to one free trial class. We’re happy to offer all new students a free 7 day trial that includes a free uniform (on loan). You’ll have unlimited access to all of our fundamental (beginner) classes during your 7 (consecutive) days.  We’re confident that the class structure, academy cutlure, and first-class instruction will speak for itself.
